I want to encourage you today with this truth: physical and mental healing and restoration or just as part of God's plan as salvation is! Jesus accomplished all on that cross! He bore our sins, sickness, diseases, mental illness, addictions, oppressions and lack! Anything that was not part of his perfect plan died on the cross, but He rose from the dead!
Isaiah 53:4-5 NLT
Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins! 5 But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins.
He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed.
He doesn't want us to be sick or oppressed! As children of God, healing is part of our inheritance.
Isaiah 53:4-5 is not only speaking of emotional or spiritual healing, but physical as well; just read
Matthew 8:16-17:
That evening many demon-possessed people were brought to Jesus. He cast out the evil spirits with a simple command, and he healed all the sick. 17 This fulfilled the word of the Lord through the prophet Isaiah, who said,
“He took our sicknesses and removed our diseases.”
If we want to know God's will all we need to do is look at Jesus and how he lived.
John 5:19 NLT
So Jesus explained, “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself. He does only what he sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son also does.
What did Jesus do? What did He speak of?
John 12:49 NLT
I don’t speak on my own authority. The Father who sent me has commanded me what to say and how to say it.
Matthew 4:23-24 NLT
Jesus traveled throughout the region of Galilee, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed every kind of disease and illness. 24 News about him spread as far as Syria, and people soon began bringing to him all who were sick. And whatever their sickness or disease, or if they were demon possessed or epileptic or paralyzed—he healed them all.
We can confidently say that Jesus accomplished The Father's will and we are to emulate Jesus as Paul tells us:
1 Corinthians 11:1 NLT
And you should imitate me, just as I imitate Christ.
Ephesians 5:1 NLT
Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children.
Wow! How can we, sinners who have fallen short of His glory, be imitators of God?!!
Romans 3:23 NLT
23 For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.
We imitate God by following Jesus's example:
-He obeyed The Father, no matter how hard or difficult.
-He gave Himself to and for others.
-He served others expecting nothing in return.
-He forgave.
-He was moved with compassion for others.
-He set captives free with His words.
-He healed all.
-He preached the Good news.
That is what we are called to do as well! But in order to bring change in other's lives, we need to know who we are in Him.
1- We are a new creation
2 Cor. 5:17 NKJV
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
2-We are His masterpiece
Ephesians 2:10 NLT
For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
3-We are chosen
1 Peter 2:9 NLT
But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.
4-We have been forgiven from our sins
Romans 8:1 NLT
So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus.
5-We are His children
John 1:12 NLT
But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.
6-We are His righteousness
2 Corinthians 5:21 NKV
For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
7- We are seated un Heavenly realms
Ephesians 2:6 NLT
For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus.
8- He Lives in us
Galatians 2:20 NLT
My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
9-He calls us friends
John 15:15 NLT
I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me.
10-We are His temple
1 Corinthians 3:16 NKJV
Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
I could go on and on and on with beautiful passages that speak of our identity in Christ, and what He Has accomplished in His finished work on the cross, but I think you now have a sense of what it means to be His child.
If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, all these promises are yours!
Don't accept your present situation if it doesn't align with these truths! Rise up! Declare and decree His promises over your life, your body, your family, your ministry, your business and your finances!
Every time I feel discouraged and cast down, I start praising God, even though my soul doesn't feel like it. I open my mouth and I start praising Him! I declare His works, who He Is, what He's done already in my life, and my faith rises and by the end of it, I am filled with renewed hope, peace and joy! It's something we need to do constantly. We will face opposition and trouble, but He gave us a way out, He overcame the world! He Is the same, yesterday, today and forever!
1 John 4:4 NKJV
You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
1 Corinthians 10:13 NIV
No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
Psalm 103 NLT
A psalm of David.
1 Let all that I am praise the Lord; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. 2 Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me. 3 He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. 4 He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies. 5 He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle’s!
6 The Lord gives righteousness and justice to all who are treated unfairly.
7 He revealed his character to Moses and his deeds to the people of Israel. 8 The Lord is compassionate and merciful, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. 9 He will not constantly accuse us, nor remain angry forever. 10 He does not punish us for all our sins; he does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve. 11 For his unfailing love toward those who fear him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. 12 He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west. 13 The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him. 14 For he knows how weak we are; he remembers we are only dust. 15 Our days on earth are like grass; like wildflowers, we bloom and die. 16 The wind blows, and we are gone— as though we had never been here. 17 But the love of the Lord remains forever with those who fear him. His salvation extends to the children’s children 18 of those who are faithful to his covenant, of those who obey his commandments!
19 The Lord has made the heavens his throne; from there he rules over everything.
20 Praise the Lord, you angels, you mighty ones who carry out his plans, listening for each of his commands. 21 Yes, praise the Lord, you armies of angels who serve him and do his will! 22 Praise the Lord, everything he has created, everything in all his kingdom.
Let all that I am praise the Lord.
