Bolognese

Fettuccine and Bolognese are a perfect match, so here is a simple recipe for a delicious Bolognese.


INGREDIENTS (SERVES 8)

市500g ground beef

市500g ground pork

市1-28oz can of San Marzano tomatoes

市1 cup red wine

市1/4 cup EVOO

市1 bottle of passata

市1/2 cup of diced carrot

市1/2 cup diced celery

市1/2 cup minced onion

市2 thyme sprigs

市1 bay leaf

市A few parsley leaves with stem

市A few basil leaves

市1-2 tsp salt


METHOD

Heat up a heavy-bottomed pot. Add EVOO and meat. Break meat apart with a wooden spoon and let caramelize and cook. Add your veggies and cook until just soft. Add herbs, salt and cook until tender. Add wine and let the alcohol evaporate. Add San Marzano tomatoes and passata, turn the heat on low and simmer for 2.5-3 hours, or until sauce is very thick. Serve with fettuccine, top with @parmigianoreggianousa
